Unless your contract specifies a guaranteed date, your shipment will be handled by the industry standard of “reasonable dispatch.” Like a binding moving estimate, a not-to-exceed estimate must be provided to you in writing and is binding on the carrier. It is a good idea that you let the van line agent do most of the packing. Establish a rough estimate of the amount of money that will remain from the sale once your mortgage and any other pending bills are paid off, and keep that in mind when determining what alterations should be made. |
